I talked with Tina Pattison, the HOAL president, on Thursday, 12/09/10, and got this whole mess straightened out with them not staying in touch with us so we could give them our donations. Apparently, the blame falls on our contact person, Darrell Hindman. Anyway...she gave me the name of a new contact person, Dan Hudzic, who is one of their traveling ambassadors. He lives in Illinois but goes all over the country to promote HOAL and raise money.
I talked with Mr. Hudzic the same day and he was very, very apologetic about it all and wanted me to let all of you know that I was talking to the right person now and he would do everything in his power to get back in our good graces. He wants to personally be at the banquet to accept our check but has back surgery scheduled in mid-January so he might have to send his PR person instead. He told me that he would still record a message for us to play at the banquet and he will be donating a one-of-a-kind painting, done by an artist in PA, to sell at our auction.
All in all, it was a good couple of phone calls and it looks like we have a renewed relationship with a very worthwhile charity.
